Some indigenes of Benue state on Thursday January 18, stormed the Unity Fountain in Abuja to protest the ongoing carnage in the state.

One of the protesters, Margaret Iyorembr, a former commissioner of women affairs in Benue state who spoke to NAIJ said it is important for the world to see what has been happening in the state.
Margaret said: “If you look round you’ll see there is a big banner there.”
On it it is written that herdsmen came to my place and murdered the tiv people including women, children and even pregnant women.
They were not provoked, this has been happening. The world needs to listen and judge what is happening.
These killers should be apprehended immediately, they are not ghosts. They must be arrested.

What is happening in Benue is a clear case of ethnic cleansing. The federal government must end the killings going on in Benue, they must bring a lasting solution to this ethnic cleansing.
Also speaking, the president general, Mdzough U Tiv, Abuja branch, Daniel Zauke said Benue indigenes are aggrieved.
“We are mourning, farming is the only thing we know how to do. These people come to our land destroy our crops, kill our people and go away scot free.
